Join CSO Instructor Susan Pinard for this beginner course, exploring Foundational and Uncial scripts. Students will create a piece with their own alphabet sentence. We will also try out versals and knotwork.

Linda Hillier & Rick Draffin present a six-week course designed for those who have already studied italics & wish to take it to the next level. We will use script analysis & introduce pen manipulation techniques to revitalize the script. Course will also help refine layout when preparing a final piece.

This class will explore the uncial script, written in a modern style and one in a flat​ pen angle version. As well, we play with Aidan Meehan's capital letters. There will be a project to work on, to be presented at the last class.

Foundational with a taste of Romans will be a course designed for beginners or those more experienced calligraphers who want to refine pen skills and learn more about this script. In this course, suitable for all levels, you will learn the essentials of the script, which is a gothic script, then use it creatively in a variety of ways. Meander books, bookmarks and envelopes are planned to draw out your talents.

We will explore this quintessential Gothic script's striking letters and woven appearance, and some variations if we have time.
