Payment Information

Paying By eTransfer

The Calligraphy Society of Ottawa is now pleased to be able to accept eTransfer payments for workshops, classes and membership registration fees. To make an eTransfer payment, you must have registered for online banking with your bank.

  1. Visit the online-banking website for your bank, and choose "eTransfer" or "Interac Transfer" from the menu.

  2. Enter all required information such as the amount to be transferred, debit from which account, and supply paymentCSO@gmail.com as the recipient address.

  3. When asked to supply a security question and answer, make up a custom secret question to have the bank ask the recipient, and provide an answer. Keep your answer for the next step.

  4. When the request has been sent, send an email to paymentCSO@gmail.com and include the name of the person whom the payment is intended, what the money is for (e.g. membership dues, course, or workshop) and of course, provide the answer to your secret question.

Once a CSO executive member receives the transaction, the money is instantly transferred to our account, and email receipts are issued to both sender and recipient.

Paying By Cheque

Please make cheques out to The Calligraphy Society of Ottawa.

Cheques can be hand-delivered to the appropriate individual (workshop coordinator, class instructor, membership coordinator, etc.) in person at meetings, or sent via mail if you cannot attend a meeting in person. The address is:

Treasurer
Calligraphy Society of Ottawa
c/o 327 Serenade Crescent
Gloucester, Ontario, K1X 0B9

Do not send cash by mail; cheques only please.

Payment by Cash

While cash may be accepted in person, we ask that you please consider using one of the other two payment options instead: They are easier for accounting purposes, and pose less risk to the individual keeping the funds for deposit.

Cash is however required to pay any material fees at workshops as this amount goes straight to the facilitator, not to the CSO.
