Description:

An existential question for calligraphers is whether theirs is an art or a craft; let us not look for answers, but instead embrace the question.

For the first day, you'll revisit the elements of design through the medium of the written letter with a series of structured but exciting visual exercises. Learn or revisit creative problem-solving strategies to work through creative bottlenecks such as tight deadlines, creative exhaustion or the ever-intimidating blank page. Your collected exercises will act as a visual compendium of your hard-won design knowledge.

On the second day you'll explore process and applied techniques to indulge your artistic side, including playing with colourful papers and media, a willingness to make messes, and the courage to work through missteps. Draw inspiration from a guided exploration of the self to create meaningful, expressive artworks that break rules and boundaries.
