The Calligraphy Society of Ottawa

A full day of Calligraphic activities, including our annual planning meeting, an extensive ‘Calligra-flea-market’, and ‘Try Your luck’ – an opportunity to try out a variety of calligraphy tools.

Whatever holiday you celebrate, create your calligraphic cards (suggest 5-20) and bring them to the meeting, where they will be ‘swapped' for cards from other members. All of your cards can be originals, or you can create one original and have it reproduced.

What’s in a layout? We’ve all had the same problem: a blank sheet of paper. We will go through many of the choices that we get to make to end up with a finished piece of work. So bring your favourite calligraphy tools and a glue stick and we’ll explore how to make a great layout.

Marta has been a member of our Society since 2000. At our September meeting, she will present how calligraphy entered her life (more than once), thanks to newspapers, and will try to give an overview of her calligraphy adventure, hoping it will inspire you in your own calligraphy adventure.
