This months program features a presentation by Peter Thornton, our visiting instructor who is in town to give a weekend workshop. He is well known internationally and a favourite at calligraphy conferences.

This evening presentation will be a personal method of working on an actual project. Peter will be given, on the evening, a quotation, or a gestural line/mark or a word and then he describes the many options, choices, pitfalls, problems and decisions that occur throughout the layout and design of a small piece of calligraphic work.

A feature of the evening will be a demonstration of the Folded Ruling Pen and the wide range of possibilities and 'flavours' available in this relatively new writing tool.

Those attending may want to bring a notepad and pencil, but no pictures or recording devices during the presentation, please.
