Exhibit: Celebrate Calligraphy! The 2026 Exhibition of CSO Members' Artwork

The Calligraphy Society of Ottawa is preparing an exhibition of calligraphic artwork by its members for the New Year. A variety of calligraphic work, inspired by historical scripts and contemporary lettering presented in a variety of formats and using different media, will be displayed at the Shenkman Arts Centre in Orléans. The exhibition will be located in the large glazed cabinet located to the left of the main entrance upon entering from Centrum Boulevard.

All CSO Members are encouraged to participate in this exhibition. Please register your contribution(s) on-line by December 5 at:

Please note the following details:

  • Participants must be CSO members in good standing for 2025 / 2026
  • Calligraphy must be an important visual element of the artwork
  • All artworks must be original by the artist
  • New artwork is encouraged although work presented in 2019 will be accepted
  • Artwork must remain in place for the duration of the exhibition (January 12 through February 12 inclusive)
  • Neither the Shenkman Arts Centre nor the City of Ottawa assume any responsibility for loss or damage to any of the artworks while on exhibit
  • Date of installation: January 12, 2026 at 1:30 pm*
  • Arrangements can be made to drop off artwork at the CSO meeting on Friday, December 5. One of the organizers will store the artwork at their home until the installation on January 12, 2026. Otherwise, participants will have to bring their artwork to the Shenkman Arts Centre (245 Centrum Boulevard) at 1:30 pm on January 12.
  • Date of take down: February 13, 2026 at 10:30 am*
  • Participants need to make arrangements to pick up their artwork during take-down on February 13 between 10:30 am and 1 pm.
